It is as if we are worker bees in the growing hive of consciousness on the planet. The queen bee is returning with Neptune returning to its rightful home in Pisces. Our job is to gather nectar, fertilize and make honey. Share your light; there are already plenty sharing their fear and anger. That voice will get heard, but if you see some light through the cracks, share the sweetness. See if you can find the spark of divine light within yourself and act from there. Now.

Astrological high surf warnings are in effect for the next 3 years as two of the planetary giants square off with their irreconcilable differences and humanity faces an evolutionary identity crisis. Uranus with the urge for freedom will square Pluto, the controlling forces squelching that freedom, 7 times beginning in 2012 through 2015. Since these are both collective in nature, this influence will be pervasive in human society. This archetypal identity crisis which we will see played out in the global theater will also be wrestled with inwardly within each individual. This deep questioning is born out of the world being at war with itself as it goes through a crisis of direction.

Karmic Adjustment Cycle: Pluto squares are karmic adjustment cycles. Normally we have free will to direct the course of our life, except when we are dealing with Pluto. Imagine you are a space shuttle captain and it is your job to pilot your space craft to its specific mission. In our make believe story, you first sit down with NASA and map out your journey, then assemble your crew and head off on your mission. What would happen if you drifted off your prescribed course? NASA would have the ability to override your onboard controls and redirect you to the intended course. NASA in our story represents your authentic soul’s purpose that brought you into this incarnation.

If a Pluto square were happening in your personal chart, it would be a time you wouldn’t be able to make progress in directions not consistent with your original soul intent. Pluto is the place within you that has never forgot what your soul came here to do in the first place. Also remember in our story, NASA didn’t blast you out of space, it redirected you to the intended course. If you were dealing with an insurmountable obstacle in your life, you would be advised to look around and see what alternative directions Pluto was opening up.

This aspect releases collective karma. We are all part of the collective, so it will also be experienced personally. There are two ways to liberate yourself from personal karma: One is through awareness within your consciousness; you make the adjustment inwardly and you are free. The second type you simply have to live through, burning through the accumulated karma and reaping the lessons for good or for ill.

The deep work with Pluto is “purging who you aren’t to become who you are.” Although Pluto at the highest level can direct you to your soul’s purpose, you first have to purge the shadow side of Pluto from your character. This is not easy because Pluto is by definition subconscious; if you know what it is, that is not it! You learn about it by seeing its manifestation, its impact. Like the wind you can’t see save for the leaves rustling on the trees. What is your effect on people and world around you? The second and more difficult aspect of knowing the Pluto influence is the brutal self-honesty required to see the less than honorable aspects of your character necessary to take full responsibility for where you are.

This way of working with Pluto individually works the same collectively. This is a collective karmic release: We are where we are because of choices we’ve made. This is always the first step in liberation from karma; taking responsibility for our role in where we are. This is not a time that we can ignore our role in the collective state of affairs and just go about our own way without some consideration for our measure of accountability.

Imagine humanity was an individual person who you were just meeting and he/she first showed you around with great pride his tremendous accomplishments and the beautiful treasures he had amassed while here on Earth. After being very impressed you began to look around his domain and noticed that many of his children were dying of hunger, while others were gorging on gluttony. You would likely think this person was totally out of touch, out of balance and unenviable.

Uranus and Pluto were together 1962-69 and the current correction cycle had its inception during this time of their union. This revolutionary period fueled the human rights movement, the Civil Rights Act, the feminist movement, sexual freedom, anti-war movements, etc. Barry McGuire recorded The Eve of Destruction on July 12, 1965 and it became a mainstream song of the protest movements. This was followed by Donovan’s release of Buffy Saint-Marie’s song, The Universal Soldier, the next month poignantly revealing the individual responsibility for sacrificing one’s body as a resource to support the war machine.

This song could be rewritten for the protest movement against corrupt capitalism as The Universal Glutton, poignantly revealing the individual responsibility of looking at greed, taking more than you need, voting with your pocketbook and not your conscious, profiting from investments that are against your values, sacrificing your integrity to support the corrupt side of capitalism.

This is a crisis because it isn’t easy when “a man has got to do what man has got to do,” just to survive and get by, let alone be a glutton about it. So wrestle with this each in our way we will likely do. How much to honor your personal integrity, how much to take advantage of a good deal?

The Astrology of Revolution: The most obvious feature of the astrology for the next three years is the spirit of revolution. People who are living oppressed lives are rising up in revolt against those who are profiting from their misery.

There are two types of revolutionaries and each will be drawn to their own way. The first types are the activists and whistle-blowers who tell us of corruption in business and government and encourage us to participate in doing something about this abuse of power.

The second types of revolutionaries have successfully broken free of the oppressive forces and are actively living a life with a totally different game plan. There already are people who are doing the work of rebuilding a sustainable culture and are successfully living lives that aren’t a compromise to their values. Both groups are demonstrators: The first joining together with others as a loud demonstration of protest. The second group is living a life that is a demonstration of an alternative way to move forward.

Both are necessary. Which are you inclined towards? No fence post sitting; that would be akin to waiting for things to get better as a strategy and that could be a long wait.

Is it a world-wide suicide? Will civilization stampede off an evolutionary cliff without even looking up? Or will there be a mass awakening of humanity with this surge of galactic energy bombarding our planet over the next few years? Not likely. It is most likely that awakening will happen in fits and spurts as it always does. First, just a small portion of the population gets the evolutionary direction of new information coming into the system through the cracks, say 1%. Just as in the individual process of awakening. Think of your own process. Fits and spurts most likely. The first light of consciousness that gets in through the cracks of how you think things are, grows, and eventually you become more conscious and awake than unconscious and asleep as you were when just following the herd.

The Field of Uncertainty: Along with the revolutionary theme this is also the signature of a quickening in the vibration and pace of the background field that we all dwell within. A spin off of this is the background feeling of uncertainty in the air. Get used to it, it comes with the territory and it wouldn’t matter how your life were going, it just is. Breath is still the most accessible and powerful tool for dealing with this background anxiety. Breathe deep into the energy and, like a surfer, picture yourself getting up on top of the wave rather than trying to quiet it. The wave is a wave, it is what it is and it is building, so no sense in waiting for it to pass, it won’t.

Enjoy the moments of temporary permanence when you find yourself where you want to be. Enjoy these islands in the river of time, delightful respites in the flowing river that eventually washes everything away.

The Earth itself will be going through this same astrological pattern of upheaval energy. The Earth’s crusts and her weather will likely be just as unstable and unpredictable as everything else. It is simply prudent to at least give some thought disaster preparation and what would you do if…?

Democracy Over-Run by Capitalism: Our country started off in a revolution against unfair and corrupt British policies that were imposed on the population. Democracy was born with the desire to level the playing field with the declaration of “…all are created equal.” Free enterprise and capitalism were installed as the vehicle of commerce to support democracy. Our country was founded on Democracy and funded by free-enterprise.

The Uranus/Pluto square triggers an identity crisis for our country; Are we a democracy first and must subordinate capitalism to that which supports a level playing field? Or, are we a capitalistic society first and should therefore mold the laws of democracy to support the right to make money however one chooses?
Democracy and capitalism have always had an up and down marriage in our country. Too much social controls from government squelches human ingenuity and doesn’t allow for individual greatness, nor creative genius into the system. Capitalism gives democracy its punch and personality by allowing for unrestrained industrious endeavors, but too much capitalism is ruthless and squelches the very principles of freedom for all that democracy is built upon.

This struggle will go on within each of us as well and it will come to a head. How much do we vote with our pocket book as the highest priority and how much to keep a level playing field for ourselves, others, our children and their children? It is not a clear-cut nor easy decision. You’ve got to support yourself and those you care for. Where is it that each of us are willing to sell out our principles, values, and integrity in the name of success? Like an individual who has been exclusively focusing on his career life while his home life and personal life are in shambles, the marriage between democracy and capitalism is also in shambles, from the same over-focus on success, money, and business first mentality.

Humanity is not on the eve of destruction, but democracy is.

How would you find a meaningful and fulfilling life if acquiring and consuming weren’t available as the dominant and viable path? Make room in your life by indentifying, reprioritizing, letting go of these dysfunctional patterns; fighting to hold onto to something that is dysfunctional in the first place is ludicrous. The game has been changed.

We’ve all been playing the game of our life as a monopoly game with familiar rules you can depend on. The game board has been replaced with a multidimensional field. Who wins and who loses and how is that defined and measured is radically different. “He who dies with the most toys wins” is no longer a viable game plan.

The incredible lightness of being gets mighty weighty while saddled with the burdens of trying to maintain something that is not satisfying, nor sustainable through time.

Sustainability is the big picture with Pluto in Capricorn, and if you want to align with the evolutionary intent behind the crumbling down of the old system, get on track with creating a sustainable life. The system that is crumbling is not sustainable; for the Earth and its finite resources and for individuals carrying an impossible load of burdens trying to maintain a life that is not sustainable.

By definition, Pluto is subconscious until, in its volcanic fashion, it erupts into conscious awareness. Uranus square Pluto activates unexpected experiences that force us to become conscious of that which we were previously unaware. This shocking illumination of becoming conscious of the consequences of our collective choices can be hard to live with at first.

Sometimes it seems bizarre even to participate in a world gone mad. Why even participate with such trivial or insignificant concerns when you see the truth of the evolutionary crisis we are facing?

Peace doesn’t happen when the one at disadvantage calls for a truce. Peace happens when the one in advantage ends the conflict in favor of a cooperative path. The disparity of wealth distribution in our country won’t end by the disadvantaged people calling for equality. It happens when those in advantage positions become conscious, one by one and breaking free of soul crushing greed.

We want the 1% of the financial community to change their hoarding ways and the same could be implored of the 1% of the consciousness community. Why participate in a mad world once you have awakened? Because it is your role in the slow process of humanity awakening. Don’t hoard your awakening, don’t let the awakening be wasted by not participating, give back to the collective. Instead of being resentful for those still largely unconscious, be thankful for your own awakening and give back from there in your day to day involvement with the life you are living. It will have its subtle influence.

Neptune returns to its own sign Pisces, and The Call to Return to Source: While Neptune was in the Air sign of Aquarius the last 13 years we’ve been encouraged to seek alternative methods for connecting with the spiritual realm, attempting to find the link between quantum physics and the spiritual realm as an example. With Pisces you are encouraged to return to source, your own internal source of knowing. Invite it back into your life.

Neptune returns to its own sign February 3rd for the next thirteen years and holds the promise of a global spiritual renaissance as the planet of imagination enters its strongest domain. Artists and spiritual seekers both will know how to get the best of this passage. Pisces is the sign of the fishes; one is swimming in the upper waters interacting with the world and the other is swimming in the deeper, inner waters that only you know about. The arts, music and all forms of creative expression will likely flourish with this creative surge and urge for transcendence.

The urge for transcendence: The high road function of Neptune in Pisces is to dissolve the separate ego identity so that you become aware of being part of a larger spiritual reality. You transcend the separate sense of self to become absorbed in the life around you as all feelings of separateness disappear.

The shadow side of self-transcendence is self-denial. Woe is me, self-pity and guilt are all still focused on the separate self and ego, in its demise and denial rather than its glory, but still anchored in self-absorption, rather than transcending self and becoming anchored in the all.

Self-denial as a path doesn’t work; by denying yourself, you are denying part of existence; your part.

Escapism, drugs, alcohol and fear are also shadow side manifestations of unskillful ways of transcending reality. The wine and movie industries will certainly thrive.

Let this be a return of sacred awareness in your life. Reap the rewards of meditation: when you meditate you break the conditioning cycle by tapping into the eternal source within you that has never been wounded or tainted by life’s experiences. Be informed by this source as much as your worldly identity. Beyond spiritual practices, this can be sitting, walking in nature, or even becoming absorbed in the face of a child.

This energy is more lyrical than logical. The power of storytelling should not be discounted as a means of having influence as the public’s desire to lose itself in fantasy continues.

Empathy and compassion are natural expressions of this combination and thankfully should be in more evidence.

It appears as if it is our collective role to be stewards of the Earth and its inhabitants. We can do a better job. We must. Existence is infinitely patient with our karmic lessons; do it till you get it right, or do it again, and again, and again. The urge to belong and feel at home is strong, but this Earth is our home for now. We will stay here till we get it right, and we don’t have it right yet, so back to work. Our gardens are a mess, our water is atrocious, and children are dying of hunger. There is plenty still to do.

Exhaustion: The poet David Whyte tells a story of being exhausted from serving on volunteer committees that were not making any progress. He was about to spend an evening with a colleague interpreting Rilke poems when he first asked his friend about his thoughts about exhaustion. His friend’s response was life changing for me:

“Exhaustion doesn’t come from need of rest. The antidote for exhaustion is wholeheartedness.”

This I found staggering in its truth and its implications in my life. When not being wholehearted about whatever I was doing, I started evaluating what was standing in the way. You might want to evaluate your own life in terms of not being whole hearted in certain areas. Where is it in you that your resistance is standing in the way of you being whole hearted in your involvement with your life? And just as important, where is it that the container of your life is not large enough to allow you to pour the fullness of your being into it?

Flashpoints: The 60’s were a flashpoint in the normal slow crawl of civilization with the public unrest with status quo and innovative progressive ideas at a peak. The consciousness movement of the 60’s was high-jacked by the yuppie movement of the 80’s when many bright minds of the movement were enticed by capitalism because it was the hottest game in town; it was where the action was. It no longer is. The consciousness movement will be fortified by the growing disenchantment with unsatisfying attempts to regain the glory of days gone by. We are in another flashpoint in our individual and collective process.

Spiral up, or spiral down, or simply go round and round. These are our choices during karmic adjustment cycles when choices do matter. Will you/we stay on the merry go round of someone else’s bidding and keep repeating the same lessons over and over again? Will you/we spiral down in defeat from the soul crushing fear mongers? Or will you/we make the choices to spiral up and take part in the growing light of consciousness, helping to usher in our next phase of our life together on this lovely planet: At least it will be lovely when our work is done.

You were born for times like these. How do you know? You are here.

This focus of this newsletter, and the available CD which goes into greater detail, is to view current astrological patterns as a guide for consciousness growth and personal development, regardless of prevailing political and economic trends. Political, economic, and earth upheavals will continue to rock the planet in general, but there is always a way forward to align with the changes.

Harmony within change, isn’t that what we see in the heavens?

The signature theme astrologically for the next several years will be the intensifying Uranus square Pluto aspect and from this we can accurately predict that the events in the world will be highly unpredictable! This coincides with the Mayan calendar target year of 2012 of a shift in our surrounding frequency field.

We know this social instability will last at least through the 7 squares of Pluto and Uranus through 2015, so we don’t want to just wait for life to get mellower. Navigating our lives during this time is like a driving experience I in Naples, Italy; you can’t rely on familiar rules of the road, they are only mere suggestions. You’ve got to be in the moment, attentive, and in the flow.

2012 simplified: The tilt of Earth’s axis in its 26000 year cycle is in a rare alignment with the center of the plane of the galaxy, creating surges of cosmic energy throughout our system. It could be the entire solar system, not just our Earth, is heating up and vibrating at a faster frequency with these waves of cosmic energy bombarding our planet from outside our solar system. This is unfamiliar energy for us and one of the contributing factors as to why people say they just don’t feel like their normal selves anymore.

How will 2012 feel? Just like this. We are already in the zone.

The very energy that has led to a phenomenal increase in everyday intuition (thinking of someone just before they call you) is an example of this quickened energy, as are anxiety, sleeping patterns being disrupted, revolutionary activity in the world and the like.

Life works for different people in different ways; it is the same sun which rises and sets on each of us, yet we are all having very different experiences; most often because of what we pay attention to. Yogananda called attention units, Lifetrons; what you pay attention to is what you give life to out of the infinite potential of possibilities.

Is light a particle or a wave? Well, it’s both, depending on how you pay attention to it. Light responds to our attention; so does life. Are you a particle, or a wave? This can be a useful metaphor as a guide through these times. When you are locked into particle consciousness, you attempt to freeze yourself in time and space and it’s futile. When you are in wave consciousness, you remain growing, changing, evolving with the energy of the field around you.

Your DNA is wave like in nature and adapts to changing frequency in the surrounding field. You don’t have to make it happen, but you need to remove resistance to it happening.

Simple truth: Positivity raises your vibration, negativity lowers your vibration. To catch the evolutionary wave that is creating this accelerated energy in the field around us, stay positive, and remove particle consciousness when you find yourself in resistance to how things are. When you are in acceptance of” it is what it is”, there is an attending mild euphoria with an uplifting sense of discovery in the air.

Bruce Lipton’s studies on the effect of environment on DNA show that we are not victims of a fixed DNA pattern. Neuroscience is discovering the nature of neural- plasticity and that we can basically re-wire our consciousness with focused attention; firing is wiring. And the number one determining environmental impact on your DNA is your consciousness. Change the environmental field of your consciousness by shifting your focus from what is happening to you, to how you are responding to it. Remain positive when times are tough and you literally rise above your circumstances creating an environment for your DNA to flourish and awaken to new potential.

We are only victims or slaves of our genetic make-up if we stay at the automatic response mode. By meditating and other forms of stilling the noisy background, we can rise up out of the automatic response level and choose our responses to the environment. This changes your biology. Your genes get reprogrammed from a purer source.

Resist the energy and you just heat up in frustration. Resist, resist, fear, fear; there are a thousand reasons to support hunkering down in fearful anticipation. But that is no way to live. It diminishes your energy rather than expands it, creating a negative environment in your consciousness for any type of growth.

The more that you can accept this energy by rising above negativity, it will facilitate an awakening and an activation. It is not a mistake that we are here at this time. It is not a mistake that your soul chose to be here for 2012. Trust that your DNA is pre-encoded to align with this energy.

Immediate fry zone: “I just expected my life to be different than it is and I want it how it used to be.” Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle.

Pluto in Capricorn-2008-2023. Pluto signifies major transformations, deaths and rebirths in its sign. Collectively, Pluto in Capricorn has been devastating to the global economy as old systems crumble, clearing the way for rebirths of new systems.
At the personal level, this is felt as a growing desire to be aligned with a meaningful and purposeful work.

Capricorn is the organizing intelligence of nature, and we are of the same fabric. All of nature is here in response to needs that brought it here. Surrender to your role, tend the needs that you are drawn to and the skills you need will be drawn out of you. Aligning with your soul’s purpose awakens the skills necessary to fulfill your purpose.

Parents know that children make us better people than we might have been otherwise, and it is the same with serving others; you rise to a level you didn’t know you could do.

As much as possible, move your life in the direction of sustainability and live with assurance, as much as insurance.

The shadow sign of Capricorn is greed based power and control, with the chant, “I want you to do what I want you to do when I want you to do it.” This is clashing with Uranus in Aries and the urge for individual freedom with the growing chant of “I just want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.” This clash of principles sets up the revolutionary time we are in.

Uranus in Aries for 7years:
Politically this is revolutionary as we can well see. For personal growth, be in a revolution to anything that holds you back from the experiencing the fullness of who you are. It is time to set yourself free and allow for personal awakenings, individual breakthroughs, discoveries and personal growth.

Be a revolutionary; feel secure. You would have to be a revolutionary to break free of the cultural neurosis of insecurity which drives capitalism.

Be a revolutionary; break free of fear and all those who exploit us with fear. It is better to preserve your sovereignty and to live authentically rather than to give your power away to those who are manipulating us with fear.

If you are kept in fear it lowers your vibration and you are easier to manipulate and control.

You have to claim your right to exist, like clearing your land so nature doesn’t reclaim where you have settled. You have to claim your psychic space and free it from weeds of negativity. Negative thoughts lower your immune system.

Uranus seeks to cast off whatever limits its expression. In Aries, cast off whatever limiting beliefs that you have that paralyze you into inertia. Fear, guilt, shame, unworthiness, excessive thinking; all useless where this energy wants to take you. This is the time for action first, learning as you go, and entering into discovery on a need to know basis.

Neptune in Aquarius until Feb. 2012 when it goes back into Pisces until 2025:
A gathering of the tribes of seekers of alternative paths. How many of us have been working with “energy” in various ways? From astrology, to the healing arts, to crystals, to food, to alternative sources of energy, to animal and plant communication, to yoga and meditation, to Extra-terrestrial intelligence, and so on? Collectively we know a great deal about how to aligning with energy, and with the rise of social networks (Aquarius) like YouTube, we all have access to each other’s information. Get out and share what you have learned.

Ways to be with the Energy:
The less resistance you have, the more energy can pass freely through you without any glitches.

Light Body activation: Build the temple of light within the body. Picture light energy moving through your entire being. Feed on light, the Sun, color and sound as energy circulating through your body. Add live food, juices, and greens to your diet to support the cellular transmission of energy. You don’t have to stop what you are already doing, but start enhancing light energy moving through your being.

Connect with the place within you that has never been wounded or tainted by life. Allow yourself to be re-informed by the pure spirit of your eternal being. Allow the new information in, do something to center yourself, and then allow.
Your DNA has potential for doing anything imaginable, picture these surges of accelerated, heated up energy as activating a quantum leap in your ability to pull up out of obsessive self- absorption and get involved creatively with the life you are living.

Break down belief structures that are holding you back or inhibiting you in any way. Do your beliefs expand your world or contract it?

Anchor yourself in your authentic, direct experience of truth.

Expand yourself through breath and visualization to encompass the anxious energy, rather than suppress it.

With Jupiter in Taurus, enjoy your way to an enjoyable life! Try a Jupiter in Taurus mantra to stay focused when everything seems to be happening at once: “Quality first, completion in its time.”

With Saturn in Libra, strive for impeccability in all of your dealings with others. Bring honor and integrity to all of your agreements, and if you are not able to, don’t make the agreement.

Timelessness: experiment with breaking free of the clock. Is your natural energy at its best in 9-5, m-f or would you have a different natural rhythm of when you are most productive and creative? If you are awake in the middle of the night anyway, why not get up and get involved with something creative?

If you are willing to fulfill your purpose and rise to your highest potential to serve others, all that you need will be provided. Your part of the equation is to know yourself well enough to know what you need at the personal level to fill your needs so you can be at your best for others. It is not about denying self to help others; it is to fulfill self so you have something to offer others.

Children born at this time are not going through activation, they are born with it. It is not a change in the field for them; it is the informing field they are born into.

Disaster preparation with this type of astrology would not be considered fear-based, but wise, if not at least prudent. Having a survival kit readily available, creating neighborhood community support systems at the grass roots level, growing your own food and creating community gardens are examples.

Move from venture capital to nurture capital.

Summer Equinox 2011 (see end of newsletter to order CD)

The season starts off with the Sun moving into Cancer and activating a cardinal grand cross, giving a surge of energy for initiating change. Thankfully, Jupiter into Taurus is in harmony with Neptune, making it more accessible to enjoy life. Yes there is uncertainty in the air, but the universe will always be an engine of change, and the world is still a beautiful place for those who have the eyes to behold it. But this is like a beautiful sunset; not a bad thing if you missed it, you just missed it.

When we think of the laid back days of summer, this will become more available after the full moon of July 14th. Until then, the grand square is activated and it is likely to feel pretty intense, with a hunger for security, comfort and familiarity being awakened with Cancer, but the world doesn’t feel familiar or comfortable! Something has to give and it is usually our attachments of how we think things should be that are standing in the way.

Jupiter has moved into Taurus as of June 4th and will be here for one year offering a relief from all of the tension and concerns of the world. The Taurus attitude is why get all caught up in possibilities and what ifs, when there is so much to enjoy now! Jupiter is our philosophical attitude of how we reach for growth, expansion, and abundance, and in the earth sign of Taurus, it is in the here and now that it is found. Taurus, the connoisseur of the zodiac, seeks quality above quantity in all ways and it’s time to lay out your plans slowly and patiently, focusing on quality first, completion in its time. Bring a bit of artistry into your skills, be the craftsperson in all you do and take pride in excellence.

Enjoy your way to a more enjoyable life. Experience the benefit of dropping into your senses, Stop and enjoy the immediacy of seeing, touching, smelling, tasting, and hearing, the vehicles of now. This in and of itself will pull you out or your head and into the moment. Taurus ruled by Venus, activates the law of attraction; the more time you spend in the state of enjoyment, the more you will attract an enjoyable life.

There is a favorable Jupiter/Neptune sextile this season providing an opportunity to rise above the tensions of the day. It is not as if the background tension subsides, but you have a greater opportunity to rise above the noise with this support. Neptune infuses the material plane with spirit: Matter enriched with spirit. Body infused with spirit. Earth infused with spirit.

Living with timelessness (The Mayan Deal) People ask when will this uncertainty and crazy quickened energy calm down. Some even wonder if this Mayan calendar business means the end of the world, so should we go ahead max out the credit cards or what? It might be the wrong question. What if this apparent collapse of time continues? Then we would want to align with timelessness, at least as a metaphor, as best we could, and that wouldn’t be all bad.

Think of all the benefits of living with timelessness! Fear would dissipate; fear is anticipating something negative going to happen in time, while in the now there is no fear. The burden of carrying things for so long would be dropped. Anxiety of anticipation would subside. You wouldn’t be concerned with aging and would stay anchored in the present you which doesn’t age.

Experiment with breaking free of the clock when you can. Is your natural energy at its best 9-5, M-F, or would you have a different natural rhythm of when you are most productive, creative, amorous and in need of rest?

Try a weekend with no clock, get up when you feel like it, nap when you feel like it, eat when you feel like it, play when you feel like it; liberate your natural creative cycle. If you are awake in the middle of the night with all of this wild energy, try getting up at 2, 3, or 4 in the morning and start your day, you might have some amazing realizations about your natural energy cycle. If you are awake anyway, why not just go with it? You will probably be asleep by 7 the next day, but who’s watching the clock?

Falling into Grace…Neptune in Pisces
With Neptune in its own sign of Pisces it would be wise to consider the difference between self-denial and self-transcendence. At its highest, this represents an opportunity to transcend the ego and its needs to become absorbed in a larger and greater reality. The shadow side of this is self-denial, which is still anchored in the ego in its denial rather than its glory.

If you are willing to fulfill your purpose and rise to your highest potential to serve others, your personal needs will be provided for, even abundantly. Your part of the equation is to know yourself well enough to know what you need in body, ego and personality to fill your needs so that you can be at your best for others.

Ways to be with the Energy
Expand yourself through breath and visualization to encompass the energy, rather than suppress it. Picture this quickened energy as increased qi and imagine it as light energy circulating through your being. The less resistance you have, the more energy can pass freely through you without any glitches.

Anchor yourself in your authentic, direct experience of truth.

Tune your instrument before you play it: start your day with some intention of aligning with your highest self and then set out to make your music.

Dissolve the solidification of your thoughts and beliefs. Return to acceptance of the mystery; not good, not bad, just is.

Be co-creators in the garden: Just as astrologers learn to listen to the living language of the heavens, the plant world is also a living library of information for those who listen. Plants hold earth wisdom and they have learned how to adapt to life here long ago. Honor the guiding spirit of your garden and let it inform you of its needs. Become an instrument of your garden’s will to thrive.

Appreciate the beauty of a flower and your interaction allows the flower to complete its soul’s purpose.

Spring Equinox Astrology

Spring Equinox 2011 Time to begin anew
What an announcement Uranus made moving into Aries on March 11th, changing signs after 7 years in watery Pisces: A devastating earthquake, creating an even worse tsunami, igniting an explosion at a nuclear plant creating radiation leaks and a real risk of some degree of meltdown! From water to fire with a fury; the revolution in the Mideast, radical political battles in the Midwest, and this is just Uranus’s calling card for its 7 year stint in Aries.
Uranus’s movement into Aries is also significant in that this is the first time since 1972 that one of the outer planets has been in a personal sign. The outer planets set the evolutionary tone for any given period of time and since ‘72 this emphasis has been in the social and collective signs. The evolutionary guidance has been to align the “I” with the “we”. Aries is the first of the personal signs and existence is now seeking to express and discover itself through the individual; you. It is time to set yourself free and allow for personal awakenings, individual breakthroughs, discoveries and personal growth.
Yes, all of a sudden you matter as collective genius is now awakening in us individuals and it is now time to cast off anything that is blocking its expression. What new interest, new pursuit, or new direction can you foster in your life?
Revolution is in the air. Where do you need to throw of the tyranny of oppression in your life?
How to conduct a successful revolution in your life
Let your revolution spring from your authenticity. To get to Uranus, you must be willing to question everything you have been taught or led to believe in light of your own direct experience.
Uranus, Jupiter and Aries are all about the future. To tap into their guidance, anticipate your highest future potential. Lean forward with Aries, and know that only you can interpret its spark.
To move forward, rise up out of polarity thinking and into synthesis thinking. Polarity locks you into the stalemate of the eternal battle. Force yourself into knowing there is always a way forward, beyond the polarity, if you include movement. Allow for change.
Uranus seeks to cast off whatever limits its expression. In Aries, cast off whatever limiting beliefs that you have that paralyze you into inertia. Fear, guilt, shame, unworthiness, excessive thinking; all useless where this energy wants to take you. This is the time for action first, learning as you go, and entering into discovery on a need to know basis.
The mantra of Aries is “Just begin.” If you know exactly where this call to action is leading, that is probably not the true path! If you try to map out a five year plan with this, again you miss it. Spontaneity is born fresh and anew in each moment, and decidedly not mental; drop down into your gut to listen to this. Aries is the most physical of all the signs, instinct arising from a body based wisdom, so as best you can, get physical to engage this energy.
Let your revolution be “for” what you believe in, rather than “against” what you do not.
The Saturn opposition from Libra to all of the Aries energy will have to be accounted for, and this impulse to act in the most independent and authentic way will have to be mitigated with existing agreements. The tough medicine here is to admit to being at least complicit in these agreements. That is all Saturn asks, be responsible for your agreements and their consequences, then you can make changes in them if need be.
One of my favorite “Lucyisms” I garnered from my years of being blessed with having my sister Lucy as my first astrology mentor is, “Argue for you limitations and they are yours.” Seems an apropos caution against giving our power away for any reason. Yet, you can’t sustain the Uranus energy without first answering to Saturn’s test questions in Libra: are your choices for action fair and just for self and others? Will your choices impact others in a harmful way? Are you bringing more honor to the situation or less?
These questions are the balancing required of the Aries impulse within that says “I just want to do what I want to do when and how I want to do it. Outside of that, I’m way into cooperation!” Sounds like a joke but this is our dilemma: to maintain the authenticity of your individuality while contributing that uniqueness that is you within cooperative relationships with others. Whew! But that is the way.
Speaking of joke questions, to get in touch with your Aries voice, ask yourself, “What would I do if it was my life to live?” If you don’t get it as a joke question, you’ve got some work to do. Of course it is your life to live…who else could be living it?
The Quickening. This acceleration of the pace of life will undoubtedly continue and this is not just a bad thing. Faster = higher frequency and considering the chakras, the background field is rising towards the upper chakras, where we can access collective intelligence through our increased intuition. With this quickened energy you must be more vigilant than ever before in monitoring your own energy field. Although it is great when you are on a positive roll, when you fall into the negative spins, you create your own negative reality before you know it.
If you find yourself having difficulty crawling out of any dark holes your mind may have gotten you in, this teaching from the Buddha we ran across in Sharon Salzberg’s book Loving Kindness, might help.
The thought manifests as the word;
The word manifests as the deed;
The deed develops into habit;
And habit hardens into character.
So watch the thought and its ways with care,
And let it spring from love
Born out of consideration for all beings.


Since Pluto moved into Capricorn in 2008 (Last here during The American Revolution) ideological wars have given way to briefcase wars and corporations threaten to legally take it all if we let them. We have given them the vote, but not the conscience. This direction is not sustainable, the key measurement of this Capricorn era, and this will be coming to a head with the heating up of Uranus/Pluto aspects over the next few years.
I have faith that the universe is in a giant conspiracy for our ultimate well being if we can listen to its promtings. Listen to the whispers or listen to the shouts, guidance of what is working and not working is always speaking if we are listening. Disasters in the oil and nuclear energy fields are more than shouting of our need to hasten development of alternative energy and move away from high risk, high impact sources.
The grace of this period is Neptune moving into its own sign Pisces the first week of April. It makes a brief visit in Pisces this year until August, to return again next February until 2025.
Energetically, all that you can accept empowers you and all that you reject disempowers you. This is the way of Pisces and Neptune. Find ways to dissolve all barriers of distinction, blur the edges of definition and work with accepting, absorbing, allowing. The world is what it is whether you accept it as such or not.
I recently heard Anam Thurbten talk on how natural compassion is, as when we pass by someone hurt and our heart reaches out. What is our natural human response to seeing an animal hurt? Or an elderly person stumble and fall in front of you. This is our compassion. You don’t have to be clever, or wealthy, or powerful, or healthy or even happy to pray for others. With Neptune in its own sign the power of our prayers and compassionate thoughts for others is magnified.
What can any of us do in the face of the enormity of our current situation? Prayer, meditation, healing thoughts and blessings are the first and foremost assistance any of us can give. Show up for these times and allow yourself to feel what others are going through. Liberate yourself from any fears surrounding this and feel the natural outpouring of your heart in response. In this there is healing.
We can’t afford to drop the ball, whoever we are, a loosely defined group at best who wish to help usher in a new more compassionate era of life on our planet. Ram Dass’s sage words for times like these echo in my mind, “I would first center myself as best I could by connecting to source, and then I would get out there and see if I could help somebody.”

Winter Solstice/Lunar Eclipse

From out of the shadows, a growing light


Winter Solstice. The longest night of the year. Quiet. Still. Last year’s growth dies back and the earth absorbs, composts, and transforms it into the food that feeds next years growth. Let yourself align with the season; quiet yourself and be still and let nature pull the wounds and struggles of last year into the earth. Let them compost.

Each year nature affirms this lesson; Dark as the hour appears, the light returns. May this be a metaphor for our times. We’re a bit in limbo; the old has crumbled not to return and the new is still in nascent form. Where to align?

There is quite a bit of buzz about the the Winter Solstice this year as it falls on the same day as a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, punctuating the meaning and significance of the day. The Moon’s light, and therefore its message, is blocked during the eclipse. The pull of the past and ingrained patterns relinquish their grip and you get a chance to feel your life force without carrying the weight of your past. It is the best time to let behavior patterns and habits that no longer serve you be eclipsed. Out with the old to make way for the new. Use the Solstice/Eclipse to invite in your highest future self to fill the space you are making room for in your psyche by letting go of some unwanted behavior.

Mercury Retrograde and some Holiday Advice. Mercury will be retrograde through Dec. 29th, so check and double check travel plans and always allow more time; things happen; bring a book. When Mercury the messenger is retrograde you can assume the liklihood of miscommunications; what you thought you said and what others actually heard is not always a match, so keep a sense of humor about it. Expect the barbs masked as humor to be flying around the holiday season followed by the all forgiving, “Just kidding.” Be mindful of teasing and teasers, always a popular holdiay sport and only fun for one of the people involved. Mercury in Sagittirius is blunt; be careful of blurting out, even in humor, what later can’t be unsaid.

Visionary Opportunities. In times when logic fails us, we need our visionaries to illuminate the path forward and this season is very fruitful for visionaries There are some special oppourtunities available to tune into this solstice season, if we can set aside our worries long enough to listen. There are three outer planet conjunctions occuring in the in the final three signs, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces When outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are involved, information that was not previously available is born. Winds are blowing in the collective consciousnes, as new ideas and inspirations are born from the conjunctions. This is the time for being innovative and visionary. Some will catch hold of this wave; why not let it be you? Take advantage of the new winds blowing.

Admittedly, most of us are feeling a long way off from visionary after the brutal last few years we’ve been through! But this is the type of astrology that vision can be born from if we can set aside our personal worries.

The Worry Basket: I've heard of an American Indian tradition called the "Worry Basket". In this tradition, if you were going to visit others in their lodge, you would pick up a few sticks along the way representing your worries and burdens. There would be a worry basket at the door of the lodge and you would put your sticks into the basket before entering. You wouldn't bring your worries in with you. When you left, you would reclaim your issues by taking your worry sticks with you.

I like this image--it provides a method for dealing with the worries that do arise. Let's expand on this image from not just the lodges of others, but where you visit them within yourself as well. When you think about someone, first place your worries in a basket in your mind. It's not that you don't have worries, you know you do. But you make these your issues and don't project them onto others. You can use the worry basket image with your own issues, to temporarily set them aside to allow you to align with the higher frequency energy available.

The Quickening: The quickening of the vibrational field around us continues to accelerate, like a video game that you learn at one level but it just keeps going faster, and faster and faster. Perhaps this quickening is from the background uncertainty that we all live with. One way or another our sense of time has accelerated and its best to get used to it.

Since everything is accelerated, you are forced to stay more conscious even of what you are thinking about. You know what is going to happen when you allow yourself to drift into negative patterns, you just get beat up in the energy, so you quickly learn, because you have to, to keep it together in accelerated time. We’ve been shown the tools, now we need to use them.

The benefits of keeping it together in quickened time is that you have heightened access to increased intution. Picture these intuitive flashes of downloads from the mainframe computer, the collective level of intelligence. This is the 85% of the mind that we have not accessed thus far. Yes we have all of these problems that the rational mind can’t solve; population, water, global warming, food, these are bigger than our rational mind can grapple with, but we are only using 10-15% of our mind’s potential! For the sake of accessing this intuitive level, you don’t want to wish this quickening away. Breathe into it, expand your self identity to allow for this increased energy and ride the wave.

Jupiter/Uranus Conjunction in Pisces. Although both Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in Pisces now, both will be moving into Aries in 2011: Jupiter in January and Uranus in March. America has been in the left hand lane with Obama, but traffic has stalled, and with the Aries urge for individual rights coming up big time in 2011, we can expect movement to the right. For now however, they are in compassionate, creative Pisces.

Picture these two positive, innovative and forward thinking planets as rubbing their hands together with excited glee of the yet to be discovered future, undaunted by the preachers of doom and gloom. Tap into this positive surge of compassionate, visionary energy. Do everything that you can to widen your empathy at the emotional, mental and spiritual levels. This in and of itself creates a growth in consciousness, expanding your range of receiving ability. You needn’t let go of your view, you move beyond it to consider another person’s experience.

This is considered a lucky aspect for goals. In Pisces, watery, imaginative sign that it is, you want to picture and imagine what your goals would feel like, more than specifically enumerate them. It is not just imposing your will on your life. It is important to sense what is emerging as your highest future potential. Reading The Tao Te Ching can help you get in the right frame of mind.

A key is to develop and maintain the authenticity of your individuality while contributing to the collective. Compare this to the Amish vision of creating group mind by removing all that distinguishes an individual as different from others. Or even more extreme is Kurt Vonnegut’s Siren’s of Titan, where in order to create an egalitarian society, gifted individuals were required to wear handicaps to compensate for their talent. Ballet dancers had sand bags tied to their arms during performance and so forth! So not this self denying way of becoming part of something larger than self, instead, this calls for offering the fullness of the awakened, individualized self.

Take advantage of this Jupiter/Uranus conjunction and move into Synthesis thinking: rising above polarity, knowing there is a larger solution that encompasses both polarities. Uranus is sudden knowing, direct insight. Put these two together and you have the possibility of creative genius. Genius type thinking is the type of ideas that come to you without your thinking them up. Go into your studio, your shop, or your writers den and have faith (Pisces) in the creative genius principle. Set to work and let it flow.

Neptune/Chiron Conjunct in Aquarius: (both moving to Pisces in 2011). This conjunction invites altruism and cultivating a vision for Humanity. Humanity must rise to save itself and our wound has been the lack of sacred awareness of life on our planet. The destiny of Chiron is not to be found in the wound, but what you are lead to for the healing. We see the wound and now must step forward to help with the healing.

Alternative energy healing of all sorts is supported by this conjunction, including subtle body energy healing. Those interested in communicating with other life forms like plants, animals, the spirit realms, etc., will get a boost.

Aquarius supports non-hierarchal systems and collectives, co-ops, free information via the internet, alternative energy, alternative lifestyles, the local food movement and Burning Man are all thriving, particularly with the younger generation.

Capricorn Conjunctions with Pluto: Pluto is joined with Mars, the North Node, and the Sun in Capricorn is fueling a strong drive to utilize everything available to you as best you can and dive into productive action. Use the Capricorn energy to help find your current sense of purpose. All of nature is here in response to a need that brought it here to fulfill; Its function is its purpose. To discover your purpose, look around and see the needs that you are drawn to and set about fulfilling them. In a major way, you look out into the world and see something not being done and consider this to be your job description. Figure it out and be relentless until you make it work.

Make it, build it, sculpt it, design it, paint it, write it, teach it care for it, but do it is the compelling call of Capricorn.

Commitment. Capricorn calls for making a commitment and helps you to rise up to levels of responsibility you didn’t even know you had it in you to do. Parents certainly know this, you find strength and wisdom and guidance because you have to, and somehow you find it in you to rise up to the responsibility. Wherever you are on your path, make a commitment to gain greater self mastery.

Ways to be with the energy.
Start by assuming this is a miracle, this body, this day, these people who love you. It gets you in the right mind set for awakening to vision. To get to the higher level of creative vision, you have to be running higher level energy. If you are depressed or even just flat, you won’t be able to hear the subtle tones of the visionary level.

The time is ripe for visionaries. Visionaries are known for having acute foresight and imagination (Jupiter/Uranus conjunction fosters this). This level is fostered by widening your circle of compassion (Pisces) and maintaining balance while holding opposing views (Saturn in Libra).
Don’t just lament what is missing, provide it! (At whatever level is available to you) What you see as missing in the world around you might very well be your cosmic job description.

Get up into your upper chakras and synthesis thinking. Rise above polarities; know there is always, always, a way forward. Taking one small step forward makes you part of the solution.

Quiet yourself as best you can to attune to the energy. Assume the events are happening outside of your normal range of perception so open, listen, and receive.

Inspiration Constipation? All backed up with ideas not acted on? Start building a rapport with the angels of inspiration and vow to follow through every day with the inspiration for that day. If you haven’t done it yet, don’t go to sleep. Follow through on the little inspirations to get to the higher inspirations. After all, who would the sources of inspiration bestow the highest revelations upon? To one who follows through on the daily inspirations or one who doesn’t act even on the simplest directions?

By providing hope and inspiration for others, you find it yourself.

Start living your life the way you think things ought to be. Be your own authority on what it takes to live a good healthy life.

Saturn in Libra tests your ability to maintain balance while considering opposing views. Watch opposing political news shows to find your own mechanism of reaction and turn it off (not the show, your reaction!) If you are caught up in the polarity you can’t rise to a higher vision.

Energetically, all that you can accept empowers you and all that you reject disempowers you. Find ways to dissolve all barriers of distinction, blur the edges of definition and work with accepting absorbing, allowing.

Make a commitment, a silent inner marriage with your soul purpose, your mission; and then honor it as a sacred contract.

People are not as ignorant as ill informed. It’s all about information baby! Get your ideas out there…youtube, blogs, facebook and twitter are all awesome opportunities to infiltrate the collective air waves with some higher frequency information. And as Sister Mary Joseph Praise called for in Cutting for Stone: “Let’s see what we can do to help people make something beautiful of their lives.”

We Are The People We’ve Been Waiting For
You know how it is with us astrologers, we’re always saying something big is about to happen. Well, something big is about to happen!

This summer is the most dramatic astrology we will experience in our lives; period. That being said, astrologers have been on the edge of their seats in anticipation of seeing how this will unfold; a bit like volcanologists gathering to a rumbling volcano. We’ve been in this build up and release since the fall of 2008 with the first passing of the Uranus opposite Saturn that has brought so much upheaval in its first four exact oppositions. First it is in a considerably more powerful alignment with other planets than before, and most importantly, the energy is shifting into cardinal signs. Cardinal signs are initiatory, ground breaking, and forward moving.

We want to be careful with too much prediction at this time. Prediction robs us of our power by assuming that future events are inevitable and out of our control; they are not. The events in the world are not happening to us, but from us. We are co-creators in the future of our own lives and the world around us and the choices we make now have considerable impact on the unfolding events.

Back in the 70’s Laurie and I lived with a commune in Hawaii. The leader of the group once said that psychiatrists labeled him as having a messiah complex because he believed it was his responsibility to care for every man, woman child, plant, and animal on the planet. His response, “I don’t have a messiah complex yet, not until everyone one of us awakens to our responsibility of taking care of all life on earth, then we will have a complex of messiahs.” Clever, but also a powerful message.

We have four children and 8 grand children and as all parents know; our children help us to become better people than we might otherwise be. We rise up and become wiser and stronger because of our children’s needs. If each of us rise up and take on the responsibility for all life around us, we will find the inner strength and wisdom we didn’t even know we had.

Apocalypse?
The word “Apocalypse” has been bantered about a great deal lately to describe the litany of crises we see confronting us. The original meaning of the word apocalypse is, disclosure of truth; lifting of the veil at the end of an age. Many have been duped into believing that we don’t belong here…here is not good. It is time we restore sacred awareness of self and planet.

Humanity is slowly lifting the veil that has kept us from the power of compassion. Compassion is such a sweet word, but there is also power in kindness as a way of life. The more that you resist in life, the more you firm up the battle against you. The more that you can accept, you grow in power. Caught in the quandary of either/or, options become limited.

Move towards synthesis thinking which rises above polarities and see a larger view that encompasses both. Don’t get locked into reactionary, polarity thinking with this type of astrology, you will just empower the opposing force.

Force yourself to “Lift the Veil” of separatist, lower chakra thinking and see things from your heart. If this seems too new agey, you are missing the power of the teaching. As we rise up in vibration from one chakra to the next, our world becomes more inclusive. We don’t separate from the lower chakras, we build on them. As we awaken to the power of our heart chakra, our world expands and the lower chakras come into balance. Lifting of the veil of separateness you enter into a synergistic rapport with life, and it all falls into place; life works. You attract support for your projects and endeavors.

Simply said, pull your mind out of whatever you are against and don’t like, and invest it into that which you do support. Pay attention to what you are paying attention to.
Saturn is the structure, the system, the shell that holds a family, business, government together. It brings cohesiveness and order in establishing the rules that work to hold it all together. Saturn is under siege right now by planets that are more powerful than itself, so the old structure, the shell has been cracking and with this upcoming transit, the shell is cracked wide open and humanity emerges to the next stage of its growth. Imagine a chick emerging from the once protective and now limiting shell. Imagine the flood of new information coming in! Sights and sounds and experiences that are wonders to behold for the chick just emerging out of the panic stage of busting out of the shell.

We’ve been gardening this spring and have started many plants by seed. It is something to watch a germinating seed burst open with new life. The shell of the seed once protected the dormant life within, but once it comes into life, the shell is burst open and cast aside as the sprout bursts forth.

This is where we are, new life will burst forth. The creative genius of the human spirit is awakening, and with Jupiter joining Uranus in Aries, these two are rubbing their hands together in excited glee about the possibilities in the yet to be discovered future. Those who align with this emerging spirit of new possibilities will easily be able to burst through the old limiting shell and trust that emerging into the new world of possibilities is the way.

Uranus and Jupiter both together in Aries promise exciting breakthrough discoveries in many fields. The pioneering forward thinking Aries gives these two voices of growth plenty of fuel. This is genius like energy in the “can do” sign Aries. Politically the spirit is revolutionary, sweeping changes of social reform would be expected

A compassionate culture intervenes on the behalf of victims from predators. Of course there will be huge opposition as the Saturn opposition will not go down without a fight. There will be those that believe the egg shell needs to be repaired and made back into what it used to be. It’s a tough argument to win in the face of how much change, growth, evolution has occurred, but Saturn’s function is to resist change, and its voice will be heard, and with Pluto involved, the voice of resistance could get nasty, fueled by ancient hatreds and the like. With the Aries activity, the voice for individual rights is likely to get fueled. Aries after all, would ideally get to do what it wants, when and where it wants, unrestricted. So the government sanctions will get challenged by individual rights groups of various sorts.

We can just look at the astrology of these times and see that we would be very vulnerable to “spark plug mentality.” The mental energy builds but fires off at whatever it is frustrated about. The energy builds and fires, builds and fires. To sustain the mental energy, don’t let it fire off. Breathe deep into it, now accept it, and then direct it. The benefit of rising out of polarity thinking is sustained mental energy. It didn’t fire off and now can be directed and put to use.

Growing impatience with things that aren’t fair. In our individual lives, this rebellious awakening will likely get activated with issues of fairness. We’ll likely feel like we’ve just had it with things that aren’t fair and have very little patience in dealing with unjust individuals.

This will have a strong impact on all relationships with the awakened needs of the self not to be denied, and yet having to remain balanced within the needs of a relationship. Expect some renegotiation in your relationships as a renewed passion for your individual rights within your involvements with others will certainly demand more attention.
We are all being asked to sharpen our skills of negotiation. Negotiation doesn’t simply mean adapting to the demands of others, It means doing your best to bring honor and integrity into all of your dealings with others. It’s not wishing things were more fair, or even first walking away from that which isn’t. It is showing up to do what you can do, to be clever enough, diligent enough, patient and persistent enough to bring situations to what resonates as fair to you. And then if you can’t make a good agreement, don’t make a bad one! You are encouraged to be active in bringing about a fair agreement, but above all, you have to know how to avoid making bad agreements. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t!

Listen to your inner knowing, the little nudges of consciousness, and start responding to them as if they were guidance, and you’re sure to be on the high road. The Uranus/Jupiter in Aries piece promises to bring many illuminating sudden knowings into consciousness. And of course Saturn will tell you all the reasons you can’t do that! And thus it goes.
Saturn retrograde in Virgo till Jul 21st. Return to maintenance, get your world working and functional, take care of your health, get your car maintained, simplify, simplify, simplify. Plant a garden, get close to the earth. The earth belongs to those who take care of her.

Anxiety Symptoms. This quickened energy that these transits are bringing is showing up as anxiety symptoms for many, even those not prone to anxious feelings. The body is resonating with this quickened energy. Flushing, heating and burning sensations, twitches, sleep issues, racing anxious thoughts, and the like are being reported with way increased frequency. This is most unpleasant for those prone to these experiences.
Breath awareness is the first thing to check. Energy follows breath and when you are anxious, check your breath; it is most likely shallow and rapid, butterfly breath. When you are feeling anxious, first breath deep and slow. Do this first, and then see how you feel. As you breathe deep, picture yourself expanding with each breath, allowing space in yourself for the energy to exist. Notice where you are holding any tension in your body and release the tension.

The astrology of these times is creating tremendous uncertainty, and this we must learn to live with. At least with Jupiter joining Uranus in Aries, the uncertainty will be laced with positive anticipation, rather than the uncertainty flavored with dread of the last few years.

Sleep
A note on sleep. When you can’t sleep, at least rest. Practice relaxation techniques while lying in bed to put your body into rest. Breathe deep, relax all tension in the body. Put yourself into restoring, receiving mode. Listen. Listen to your breath. Listen to all sounds around you. Receive the sounds as if energy coming into you with your deep breathing. Imagine every cell in your body on receiving, restoring mode and know that hanging out here is the next best thing to sleeping; you’re resting.

“It’s a mystery!”
One of the inspirational lines from the movies helps me in these times. I remember Geoffrey Rush’s role in the film Shakespear in Love. He was the producer and when one catastrophe after another threatened to stop the plays, like the theater being closed down the day before opening and when the cast would run to him and ask “How is this going to work out?” He would open his hands up in the air, tilt his head, shrug a little bit, grin and say, “It’s a mystery.” And somehow it did workout.

The oil gusher is the dark crude of our collective greed rising up out of the waters of our collective unconscious. Many people are reporting waking up with feelings of suffocation. We are not suffocating, but our oceans are. We need a new vision; there are dead canaries, and pelicans, all over the place. The hero’s have fallen. We’ve been waiting for Jesus, Buddha, The Pleidiens, the photon belt, Obama; somebody has got to save us, right? It is humanity itself that must rise up and save humanity. It is you and me and we.

As part of a new vision of our life on earth we could use a new definition of humility. Humility is not about self-denial, it is standing out of the way and allowing the divine to become successful through us. It is time to step outside of our fear and allow ourselves to rise up and meet the needs of these times. It is time for the complex of messiahs to step forward and become the custodians of life on this planet. It is our time. We are the people we’ve been waiting for.

Spring Equinox The Astrology for the next 3 months

Surf’s Up!

The astrology of this next season still presents the astrological equivalent of a high surf forecast, very big waves this spring, even bigger over the summer. However, we should start being able to make some progress forward with Mars having just gone direct and the Sun initiating quite a series of dynamic planetary activity in Aries this season. “In boldness there is genius, just begin,” a quote attributed to Goethe, is the epitome of Aries advice; just begin. There comes a time when all you can do is to move forward as best you can, just get on with it. While Mars has been retrograde the last few months, direct action has not been the correct action. Now at least we can go forward.

It takes boldness to act in these times; risk is everywhere, but standing still isn’t exactly on solid ground anyway, so act we must. We will see the 4th of 5 waves of the Uranus opposite Saturn transit in late April, and change definitely is still in the air. The experience of time will once again accelerate and with Jupiter joining Uranus in Aries by June, change trumps resistance, and we can expect even the stalemate in congress to give way allowing social reforms. This is also excellent for personal breakthroughs and evolution.

Saturn in Libra tests our ability to stay balanced with opposing views. This principle of balancing polarities is exactly opposite the Aries impulse for spontaneous, self initiated activity, and both must be taken into consideration this season. One of my friends practices Aikido and says that one of its principles is to blend with opposing forces, rather than resist. Seems like good advice for all of us for the next few years. By allowing for polarities, a larger perspective emerges that encompasses both perspectives. Although it might sound ludicrous, it would probably be good homework for a liberal to watch a Fox News show, and a conservative to watch Keith Olbermann!

This would push the very buttons that Libra is about, the ability to handle opposing views and stay in balance. Not change your view or opinion, just allow the other to exist and remain unthreatened by it. Longfellow once said,” If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man's life, sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.”

This energy shift we are experiencing has many names, The Mayan Calendar, Pisces Age to Aquarius Age, a return of the Divine Feminine and the Cardinal Climax to name a few. 2012 is a code name for activation, ascension and access to more of the 85% of our brain we are not using. This period of time we are in is when the veil is lifted and we discover more of our true nature and our access to the Universal Mind via increased intuition.

From out of chaos a new order arises; trust in this we must. We are experiencing the very astrology that demonstrates this principle. Don’t cling to that which is falling apart, be part of the next wave. We are co-creators in all of this and it is not just happening to us. As we begin to know this to be true, it forces us to become more conscious in the way that we live our lives.

The shell is cracking. Those who can pull up out of fear do tremendous good in the world and become conduits for the new information that is getting in through the cracks. The choice is to attempt to patch the cracking shell, or trust the evolutionary intention behind all of this and allow the new information in.

Impact on Intuition: As the vibrational field around us quickens, along with nervousness and feelings of uncertainty, come flashes of insight, way increased intuition. Don’t just wish the anxious feelings away; breathe into them and like a surfer facing a huge wave, breathe deep and get on top of the wave. It would be futile to attempt to quiet the wave anyway.

The world and its resources once seemed so vast; it no longer does. The more we proactively get on board with conscious living, the less we are forced into that. Listen to the whispers, or listen to the shouts; we evolve kicking dragging and screaming, or more gracefully as conscious choice, but one way or another, this forces evolution. We are forced to deal with each other to solve our problems, the era of rugged individualism is over.

And this being forced to come together to resolve our issues is what activates the greater portion of the human potential, the 85% of our brain that lay dormant in the rugged individualism era. We’ve gone along with our autonomous, individual, 15% of our capacity mind, developing and becoming conscious of our individual role in the greater play we are part of, and now this astrology of critical mass is a crack in the cosmic egg that has held us in our limited individuality. Now is the time to let new information in.

We still need a powerful lot of hell to invoke a little bit of heaven. One way to get a clue as to the evolutionary intent behind a crisis is to look at the solutions that are called for. If the whole evolutionary intention behind a crisis is in the healing directions we are led to, why not move to the healing and solution directly without waiting for the prod of crisis?

Don’t be wallygaggin’ around with this type of astrology, use the tools you’ve been shown. This is high seas, big wave astrology and our rafts are so helpful. The rafts are your techniques that you’ve been shown already on your path. This is not a rehearsal test, this is the real deal and you’ve got to employ the tools you’ve been shown and then set about reinventing your life to live more closely to what your soul is craving.

As we awaken to the Heart Chakra, we rise up out of separate competitive roles, and realize we are all in each other’s best interest. We are the people we’ve been waiting for. Realize the importance of showing up for this moment in time and space that each of our souls have arranged for us. Those of you who have the skills for pulling up out of the fear of “the sky is falling” around you, by doing so, you activate the greater guidance that you seek. Heart first, the power of compassion awakens us to the information needed of how to alleviate the tremendous suffering on our beleaguered planet.

Pluto Square Saturn in the Spring equinox chart reveals corruption that has been going on beneath the surface, or where trust has been fractured. Sometimes in nature a limb on a tree gets damaged and in order to not threaten the tree, we remove the decaying limb. This is a time of making serious choices; does the limb stay, or can it be healed by rooting out the decay and letting new growth begin? Sometimes you deal with it to get it right, and sometimes you need to remove the limb, or the tooth, deck, investment, or partnership, that is not coming back. Negotiate as best you can, but be willing cut your losses if necessary. Don’t cut and run, negotiate and walk.

Neptune and Chiron both conjunct the United States Moon in March and throughout the year, while Saturn is sitting right at the peak of the US chart: It is time for our leaders to lead and make responsible choices and we will possibly see a decision on health care reform this very month. Chiron carries the mythology of the wounded healer and it is the perfect time for this historic decision to come about. With both of these planets in humanitarian, altruistic Aquarius, awakening the compassion of the public sentiment of the people represented by the Moon, it looks like the tide is at its best for reform in this fiercely fought battle.

Expect the health care issue to be resolved and the focus of Congress shifting to jobs and housing.

These transits over the US Moon could also have a healing effect on the divisiveness of what it is to be an American. Aquarius is Universal, and if nothing else, America is the melting pot of the planet. After all, what is an American? Every race, ethnic origin, religion, political view, or lack of is represented in “what is an American? We are a community made up of universal citizens. Our roots go everywhere on the planet. Perhaps these healing transits can inspire us to a larger vision of who we are as Americans, truly universal citizens, whose heritage is absolutely global in all respects. We have an opportunity to transcend our differences and step up to this larger vision of who we are and start from there: we are all in this together and must solve it together.

Ways to be with the energy
When the outer world is this unstable it is good advice to anchor yourself in that place within you that that is unchanging. Breathe. When you are anxious your breath is shallow; deepen your breath and expand what you can allow. Make your choices from there.


Let your voice be heard. The Saturn return in the US chart asks “who is responsible in a democracy” and ultimately that is each of us. Letters to your Congressman and women are still the one of the most effective ways of being heard. If you are blessed with vision, help us see beyond our fears and to connect with a greater vision of our collective future; what we can build and create together.

Go rogue. You can’t use the rules of understanding life from an old paradigm to understand a new paradigm. Be willing to be one of the fresh voices who offer the innovative ideas we need to move forward. This is the time for the new teachers, mythmakers and storytellers to step forward.
Take part in something worthy, your vision of what it would take to become a more compassionate culture with any and all acts of kindness and compassion.

Allow yourself to feel the chaos of the times and the breaking down of old structures that no longer serve you in your life. Allow collective DNA deconditioning to occur so that the collective DNA reprogramming can occur.

You can’t move forward where there is mistrust. Repair it or dissolve it, but don’t let it foul your undertakings. Wherever you can, create a safety net of trust in family, work place, and government. You will certainly see where it isn’t.

Autocratic, top down leadership is giving way to team building. It is not just what we do, it is how we do it together, the cooperation sets up greater intuition. All that connects you with others furthers; all that separates stands in the way.

Fighting for the survival of people who can’t fight for themselves is a way to employ this intense astrology. This is a struggle for survival time for many, and if fate has spared you this battle, help those who haven’t been as fortunate, and here the list goes on and on. This is all hands on deck, if you have skills and resources, they are needed somewhere.
